Get certified to teach Consenses Curriculum to your community/school/organization/after school or home school program. This Professional Development will not only prepare you to teach Consenses' multidisciplinary, multi-sensory, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) course but will also open your mind to a whole new world of teaching. A world where there are no right or wrong answers, where the teacher knows no more than the students and where curiosity, risk taking and collaboration are the measures of success. Even if you decide not to teach Consenses' Curriculum in the end, this PD course will inspire and innovate your teaching, resulting in paradigmatic shifts in your pedagogical approaches
Taught by Sally Taylor, Artistic Director & Founder of Consenses (See her TED Talk here) and designed with Harvard School of Education graduate students, Consenses PD is the first step into a new way of thinking and teaching.
About the Consenses Curriculum: This PD course certifies you as a Professional Consenses Teacher and enables you to subscribe to and teach the Consenses Curriculum (a separate package) to students age 10-100 to help them unpack their confidence, creativity and empathy all while exploring and experimenting with SEVEN artistic mediums (Photography, music, dance, sculpture, poetry, painting and set design). The world is so divided and so many schools have cut funding for their arts programs, limiting their student's self expression and ability to listen with curiosity to one another's differences. Let this course act, for your educational community, as seven artistic mediums in one, a playground for student's imaginations and a foundation for their school unity, curiosity, empathy and understanding of themselves, each other and the world at large.
Consenses Curriculum is designed to be taught in a *classroom setting and comes equipt with lesson plans, teacher scripts, in-class videos and worksheets for 10 Modules (18 lessons-18 hours). The course can be taught over the course of a year (teaching 1 class per week) or over a semester (2x a week, allowing you to offer the course twice under the same subscription). The course culminates with a gallery showing featuring your student's art via Consenses' On-line Educational Gallery beside all other participating schools, lending your students voices to the larger understanding of the nature of reality and uniting them to students all around the world.
*The Consenses Curriculum is not restricted to the classroom setting and has also been taught successfully in the following settings: Orientation programs, extra-curricular settings, homeschooling, camp programs or workshops.
